As part of a progressive training programme all our engineers now hold IPAF certification for MEWPS (mobile elevated work platforms) including the use of harness and fall arrest equipment. Although some already held certification we wanted everyone to have the fullest training even though for the majority it was revision.
We are planning on organising a motorbike track day at either Oulton Park or Mallory Park probably the last weekend in September. Russell and his sons Colin and Daniel will undoubtedly be leading the field and we would be interested to hear from any suppliers or customers that would like to join in or attend as spectators. Whilst Russell has plenty of very fast bikes he will not share so you will need to organise your own bike. We are trying for a no noise restriction open pit lane day. For spectators there will be a refreshments marquee, plenty of seating and a guided tour of the facilities with photo opportunities. Interested parties please get in touch.

All our engineers are now first aid trained following the conclusion of courses held at our Cannock Head Office. All engineers, supervisors and managers also have asbestos awareness qualification as required by law when working within premises constructed prior to the year 2000 and by end September all engineers and supervisors will have SSST (Site Supervisor Safety Training) qualification which is a CITB course.

Our new vehicle fleet is growing at quite a pace with 7 new vans arriving by the end of July and 6 more by the end of August keeping us on target for total fleet replacement by the end of 2013. The vans will be adorned in full livery and have the efficiency boosting tracker systems installed. The new vehicles offer improved fuel efficiency and lower carbon footprint and are an important step towards meeting the company’s environmental aspirations.
